An
award-winning artist working in watercolor and mixed
media, Mary has lived in Florida for 10 years, but her
artistic journey began in Colorado with her childhood
drawing and “collaging” into scrapbooks well before
kindergarten. She studied Art at Colorado State
University and the University of Colorado before later
going into the business world of IT.
Upon returning to her first-love of
artwork, she studied in Texas with Blake Taveapont, Thom
Evans and Bill Zaner, and in Colorado with Dan Young,
all oil painters. At some point watercolor piqued her
interest, and she took a workshop with Thomas Owen back
in Colorado. Once arriving in Florida watercolor became
her primary focus, taking classes at the Beach Art
Center in Indian Rocks Beach for the next eight years in
watercolor and later experimental painting. Mary has
also studied with Bridget Austin, Terry Madden, and Pat
Weaver and other wonderful local artists.
Mary is also a member of Creative
Artists Guild, Artists Guild of Anna Maria Island, and
Glenwood Springs (CO) Art Guild. Her paintings are on
display at the Artists Guild Gallery in Holmes Beach,
TST Title Company in Palm Harbor and the Grecko Grill in
Madeira Beach, FL. She is a regular exhibitor at the
Alpine Artists Classic in Ouray, CO and the Fall Arts
Festival in Glenwood Springs, CO.k on any thumbnail to see a larger version.
